Booker Nominee

Ruth Ozeki’s beloved book A Tale for the Time Being has been short-listed for the prestigeous Booker prize. Though I really don’t think much about book awards, I am sincerely and wholeheartedly rooting for Ruth. This book is the best one I’ve read all year, and is probably up there in my top 5 ever. Scroll down and read my recommendation, then please go to her website and watch the little video. It is mesmarizing. Even the music is amazing.

… the Giller prize (Canada’s #1 prize for fiction written by a Canadian) long list has just been released, and shockingly A Tale for the Time Being didn’t make this list – the long list! – yet it’s on the short list for the most prestigeous book award in the world. Go figure! See why book awards don’t hold much water with me.
